If you’re looking for something to play this weekend, EA has announced that Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is having a multiplayer open beta which runs until January 18. The beta is available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, just head over to each console’s online store to download.
The Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 open beta includes six new game modes which are being rotated daily, including the new 24 player Herbal Assault which sees the plants on the offensive trying to capture the zombies’ base. Combat will take place across four new maps, and six new playable character classes (3 plants and 3 zombies) are available to take into battle – the original classes from the first game return too.
Players will also have limited access to the new Backyard Battleground, an open-world hub zone that can be explored in single player or co-op.
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will be available on February 23 in North America and February 25 in Australia and New Zealand on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. As is the trend with EA titles, EA Access members will be able to play the full game before release on Xbox One.
