Warzone Firefight Comes To ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ This Week

The eighth free content release comes to Halo 5: Guardians this Wednesday, June 29 (most likely today or tomorrow depending on when you are reading this). The content pack includes the return of Firefight to the Halo series, a Score Attack mode for campaign, new maps for existing game modes, a new Forge canvas and new REQ items.

To celebrate the release of Warzone Firefight, Halo 5: Guardians will be available to download and play for free for all Xbox Live Gold members from June 29 to July 5 as part of Xbox Live’s ‘Free Play Days’ program. The game will be 50 percent off during this time.

For those unaware, Warzone Firefight is an eight player co-op mode that tasks players with surviving five rounds of increasing difficulty. It was first introduced in Halo 3: ODST and was present in Halo: Reach, but not Halo 4. Warzone Firefight will take place on the six existing Warzone maps.

The Score Attack feature returns to campaign mode in this update too, enabling players to compete against each other for the highest score during campaign missions.

A new map is coming to each of the three Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer game modes. Attack on Sanctum is a Warzone map that takes place on the Covenant homeworld of Sanghelios. Prospect is a Warzone Assault map set in a mining area. finally, Molten is the new map for Arena, getting its name from the stream of lava running through it.
