‘The Witcher 3′ – Geralt’s Crossbow “Not a Weapon Per Se”

According to our soon-to-be-published interview, developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Geralt’s impressive crossbow is more than a simple ranged weapon. Our protagonist will be able to combine his witcher Signs with it, resulting in different projectiles.

“Come to think of it, it’s not a weapon per se, but there are witcher Signs you could use to deal ranged damage. There’s ten of them (an alternative for every classical Sign known from the previous game),” says senior art producer, Michał Krzemiński.

During Microsoft’s E3 presentation from last month, CDPR showcased the first official gameplay demo from Wild Hunt, in which protagonist Geralt’s crossbow – called the Gabriel crossbow – was first revealed. You can check it out, above.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on February 24th, 2015, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
