Injustice: Gods Among Us #16 Review

Injustice: Gods Among Us #16

Writer: Tom Taylor
Cover Artist: Mike S. Miller

Injustice: Gods Among Us #16 leads us to what really happens that put the look of terror on Batman’s face it the previous issue. Taylor did excellent building up to this moment. For those who have played the game you knew something happened to put Damian where he is now and there had to be some reason Batman said he’s not his son. Most would have thought that it was Damian himself who had died because this is Solomon Grundy, the zombie who would normally give any in the Bat Family a run for their money, but that wasn’t the case. It was Nightwing, because he sided with Batman on the prisoners staying locked in Arkham instead of removing them like the Justice League wanted.

The spotlight had to be placed on Batman’s narration at the very end. It showed just how much Damian’s actions and Nightwing’s death impacted him. This is not what he expected to happen and certainly didn’t expect it to come from Damian, his own son. And to end it saying that his son is now dead. That’s how you know that this situation means to him, to feel betrayed at the very moment that he needed those closest to him by his side. Even Harley Quinn was seen crying and had the same look of terror on her face as well as every person in that cell room including the villains who ceased their fighting immediately.
